Mayan preparation method:
Place the yeast cube in a bowl. Add the warm milk and then the flour. Mix well until it becomes like a thick cream. Cover the bowl with a clean towel and cook for 15 minutes in a warm place.
Meanwhile, put the flour in a kitchen bowl, dust the salt, make a hole in the flour and add the egg, milk, butter or margarine, and at the end the yeast mayonnaise.
Knead well for 20 minutes, and so that the dough does not stick to your hands, add a little warm oil.
After kneading the dough, cover the basin with 1-2 clean towels, then place it in a warm place.
Leave the dough to rise for 20-30 minutes.
Meanwhile, peel the apples and seeds and after cleaning and washing them, put them on the large grater. Put the grated apples in a pan greased with oil. Add the sugar and walnuts and / or cinnamon if we have. on the stove, until the grated apples are almost cooked and the sugar has melted. Stir from time to time so that it does not stick to the pan. After the apple composition is ready, leave it to cool.
Let's get back to the dough :)
After the dough has risen, divide it into two equal pieces and then grease the work table with oil. Spread the first piece of dough with the rolling pin. The thickness of the sheet should be 1 cm, and the sheet should be slightly larger than the tray in which we bake the pie.
Grease a pan with oil and line it with flour. Spread the first sheet of dough, place the apple composition evenly on top, then spread the second sheet. Twist the edges of the sheets so that the apple composition does not spread. With a toothpick make a few stings in the pie sheet above. Place the tray in oven and leave it for 15-20 minutes on medium to low heat. After 15-20 minutes, turn the tray so that the pie bakes evenly. Leave it in the oven for 10-15 minutes on low-medium heat.
We take a clean towel that we wet with cold water before and squeeze it well, and when the pie is baked, we take the tray out of the oven and while it is still hot, we cover the pie with the wet towel and put a dry towel on top.
After the pie has cooled, spread the powdered sugar evenly, then cut it with a knife with a fine blade and place it on a plate.
